What to expect
Your first visit will be longer than most appointments to get a full history and conduct a thorough assessment and come up with a treatment plan. Allow for a bit over 45 minutes. You will need to undress the relevant area of your body for this assessment, but this will occur in the privacy of a treatment cubicle or room.
Any follow up appointments will be 30 minutes to evaluate the outcome of the initial visit, establish that the treatment was the best possible choice to proceed further to get you on your road to recovery more quickly. Remember, the benefits of your treatment will be enhanced if you follow the guidelines around prevention of re-injury, doing any prescribed exercises and, stretches recommended by your Physiotherapist.
If you have private health insurance, at FullLife Physio® we can swipe your Private Health Insurance card through the HICAPs point-of-sale to receive the reimbursement immediately from your insurer and then we can swipe your credit card to pay the residual if there is a gap. Please remember to bring your Health Insurance Card.
If your injury is a result of a Work or Motor Vehicle accident, we ask that you pay for all treatment until you receive an acknowledgement from the insurer that your claim has been approved. From then on FullLife Physio® will invoice the insurer directly. Please note we do not accept interstate workers’ compensation claims.
You do not require a medical referral for Physiotherapy in Australia to claim through your private health insurance.
However, you will require a referral from a registered medical professional if your treatment is related to a Motor Vehicle Injury claim, a Work-related injury claim, or Medicare Care Plans (EPC).
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your physiotherapy appointment, please contact us as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment to another patient.
More than 24 hours’ notice: No fee will apply.
Less than 24 hours’ notice: A fee of 50% of the scheduled treatment fee will apply.
No cancellation or non-attendance (“no-show”): The full scheduled treatment fee (100%) will apply.
These fees are charged because short-notice cancellations and missed appointments leave insufficient time for us to offer the appointment to another patient, while practitioner and clinic costs still apply.
How to cancel
Please contact us by phone, email, or through our online booking system. Leaving a message on our phone or sending an email will tell us the time of your notification in relation to your appointment time. The 24-hour notice period is calculated back from the scheduled appointment time.
Emergencies and exceptional circumstances
We understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected circumstances can occur. Please contact us as soon as possible if this happens. At the clinic’s discretion, the fee may be reduced or waived in exceptional circumstances.
Payment and health fund claims
Cancellation and non-attendance fees are payable by the patient and are not treatment fees. They cannot be claimed through Medicare, private health insurance, DVA, workers compensation, or motor vehicle accident schemes.
By booking an appointment with us, you acknowledge and agree to this policy. The policy is provided at the time of booking and is also available on our website and at reception.
Thank you for respecting our appointment times and helping us provide timely care to all patients.
